Young Romance #156

Young Romance #156 (On Sale: August 13, 1968) has a cover by persons unknown. Anyone care to guess the artist?

We begin with "Love is What It's All About" pencilled by Mike Sekowsky and inked by Joe Orlando. That is followed by "Two Girls from Yesterday" drawn by Mike Sekowsky and Bernard Sachs and reprinted from Falling In Love #57. We round out the isseu with "Surfbunnies" drawn by Bill Draut.

Edited by Joe Orlando.

Another reminder that there were Good Weeks at the newstand... and then there were Bad Weeks. Or at least Good Tuesdays and Bad Tuesdays (the new comics always went up on Tuesdays back in this golden era, at least in my hometown).

Thank goodness there were Marvels on the rack along with the DCs!

Ha! Yeah, at the age of 10 walking up to the counter with a copy of "Young Romance" checked in at about the same embarrassment level as buying condoms at age 16. Wasn't exactly at the top of my list of priorities; I was strictly a superhero guy. But, I'll confess that if my older sister happened to pick up a copy, or something similar, I wasn't above taking a peek. ;-) And the covers are kind of fun to look at.
